Trout in the Town: Announcing our first accredited chapters

An update from Trout in the Town Programme Managers Theo Pike and Paul Gaskell :

After inviting urban river groups all over the country to apply for official accreditation with Trout in the Town  we’ve been receiving a steady flow of applications for this exciting new endorsement.

And now we’re delighted to announce – and congratulate! — our first round of accredited Trout in the Town chapters:

Gold

  • South East Rivers Trust (SERT)
  • Community Action to Transform Cale Habitat (CATCH)

Silver

  • Friends of the River Frome
  • Our Finest Dour: White Cliffs Countryside Partnership & River Dour Partnership

Bronze

  • Friends of the River Dearne
  • Yeovil Rivers Community Trust (YRCT)

First Contact

  • Cheselbourne Stream Conservation Group
  • Sustainable Westbury-on-Trym (SuSWoT)

Every group in the list above will shortly be receiving a special certificate to print out, as well as a matching badge to display on their website and other materials.

If you’ve been accredited, congratulations again, and please do keep us up to date with all your news — either by emailing us directly, or by posting on the Trout in the Town Facebook group.

And if you haven’t been accredited yet, but you’d like your local urban river group to become part of our Trout in the Town movement, please contact Theo or Paul, and we’ll get things moving.
