Do you know a lady who’d like to be introduced to fly-fishing?

Yorkshire-based fishing guide Phillippa Hake kindly donated a lot for this year’s WTT Spring Auction, and it’s been bought by one of our members who would now like to give it away to a lady who’d enjoy learning more about this sport which many of us find so absorbing.

Phillippa’s auction lot was described as:

One day’s fishing for 1 rod on the River Calder in West Yorkshire with Phillippa Hake, targeting trout and grayling with simple dry-fly and nymph tactics. Phillippa is a rising star for both her fishing and fly-tying abilities. The Calder is her local river. 2024 season.’

Our generous donor says:

I only know three lady fly-fishers, so I’d be delighted if Phillippa could introduce another lady to the joys of fly-fishing as an antidote to the stress and pressures of modern life. Being out in nature with a fishing rod should be prescribed by the NHS for mindfulness!’

If you, or a lady you know, would like the chance of this wonderful day learning about fly-fishing with Phillippa, please contact Christina at the WTT office (email office@wildtrout.org / phone 023 9257 0985) by 6.00pm on Wednesday 22 May.

Applications will be numbered in the order we receive them, and we’ll choose a winner on Thursday 23 May using a random number generator app.

Thank you again to Phillippa and our generous WTT member from North Wales for making this possible!
