Each year, we gather online for an evening of festive fun: our Christmas Raffle. This year, we welcomed Professor Mark Everard for a fascinating talk on fish ecology (a recording will be available online soon). We also held a live draw to choose the winners of this year’s fantastic prizes:
1st Prize — Won by Joe Crowley (Number 10043)
A Sage single-handed outfit, consisting of any single-handed rod and suitable reel from the Sage range, plus a matching RIO fly line. Valued at around £1,500 and kindly donated by Guide Flyfishing.
2nd Prize — Won by Richard Macnair (Number 11399)
A midweek night’s dinner, bed, and breakfast for two at The Hide Hotel, plus a day’s fishing for two rods on the River Derwent. Valued at £600 and kindly donated by The Chatsworth Estate.
3rd Prize — Won by David Brown (Number 2901)
A long weekend at Primrose Cottage on Exmoor, with fishing on the East Lyn for the wildest of wild brown trout, sea trout, and Atlantic salmon. Valued at £550 and kindly donated by Simon and Kat Francis.
4th Prize — Won by Desmond Bridge (Number 13020)
A day of trout fishing for two rods on the upper River Lambourn in West Berkshire. Valued at £300 and kindly donated by Weston Farm Fishery.
5th Prize — Won by Heather Olsen (Number 2060)
A bottle of 21-year-old Single Malt Scotch Whisky from The Glenlivet’s Sample Room Collection. Valued at £250 and kindly donated by Ian McIntosh.
6th Prize — Won by Charles Carr (Number 11731)
A £100 Farlows voucher, to be used online or in the Pall Mall shop. Kindly donated by Farlows.
7th Prize — Won by Hywel Jones (Number 12334)
A bottle of Renais signature gin, accompanied by two unique Renais glasses. Valued at £90 and kindly donated by Chris Watson.
In total, this year’s Raffle raised an incredible £14,695. These funds will help us to make a difference for rivers nationwide and their wild trout. A massive thank you to Professor Everard, our prize donors, and everyone who supported us by buying tickets.
