A summer evening (4−5 hours) of starry smooth-hound fishing for 1 rod on the Fylde coast in Lancashire with Thomas Myerscough of the Wyre Rivers Trust. This is one of the top 5 venues for the species in the UK. Starry smooth-hounds are a small shark species (up to 15lb) and excellent fighters. You need to be agile, fit, able to walk 1 – 2 miles to the mark and then fish the incoming tide. The beach can be dangerous so be prepared to follow instructions from your expert guide. Waders are required but tackle and bait can be provided. Some beach fishing experience would be helpful. June or July 2019 and subject to tides and weather.
