An ‘low-tech’ experimental project on a small in Dorset stream. The stream is suffering the impacts of cattle poaching over-shading and siltation. There is also a lack of in-stream cover for adult trout. A series of enhancement techniques are being utilised to address these issues including cattle drinks, fencing, coppicing, gravel jetting and the introduction of cover logs / woody debris. The physical works are due to be completed in March 2006. There is a basic monitoring programme in place.
